Graduate Assistantships
Interested students should apply to the graduate program through the Portland State Chemistry Department. Some of the thesis topics currently available are:
- Developing diagnostics for protective coating degradation and failure
- Developing nanocomposite materials for use in art conservation
- Understanding barrier properties of thin films using electrical circuit models
- Understanding material breakdown by corrosion layer analysis
Undergraduate Research Experiences
Numerous projects are available for students, as research experiences in materials chemistry and internships in art conservation.
We also host undergraduate students through the REU program.
