The School of Film welcomes director Haolun Shu to screen and discuss "The Trilogy of 3 Years," three shorts made in Shanghai between 2020 and 2022 that reflect on the experience of the pandemic.

Shu studied filmmaking in Southern Illinois University, USA, where he graduated with an MFA degree in directing. After returning to his native Shanghai, he produced, wrote and directed the films Struggle, Nostalgia, Young Blood and No.89 Shimen Road which has won numerous international film festival awards. He is a leading figure and organizer of the Shanghai independent filmmaker community. He teaches film directing and writing at Shanghai Film Academy of Shanghai University and is its MFA program supervisor. Currently he is a visiting scholar/filmmaker for the film school of USC (Univ.
