Meeting with a Society & Identity Advisor:
Students in this Pathway, including Exploratory, are assigned to their advisor based on the major and the last two digits of their PSU ID number as listed below. If you would like to request a different advisor than the one assigned to you, please fill out an Advisor Change Request form. If you change your major to a different pathway, your new advisor will be updated automatically within a week.
Visit drop-in hours for quick questions or use our appointment portal to schedule a longer time. When scheduling, choose a modality (in-person, virtual or phone), then select a day from the calendar (green days have availability), and your desired time. Then continue to register your appointment and submit the form.
Current PSU Students: Use this option if you have an active PSU account. After logging in with your Odin account, you have the option to select your Assigned Advisor or choose "Other Academic Advisor" to view all advisors in the pathway.
Students returning after an absence: If you have been away from PSU and your account is not active, select "Prospective Student" to book an appointment. Select the modality, day, and time and continue to register your appointment. If you have any problems scheduling, call our office at 503-725-3822.
Students starting at PSU in a future term:
You may either meet with a S&I Pathway Advisor or a Transfer Advisor prior to your first term but must participate in New Student Orientation in order to register for your first term classes. Transfer students attending local community colleges should also check out our Transfer Guides!
If you are planning to pursue a major in Elementary or Special Education, we recommend attending a College of Education Information Session before meeting with an advisor. If you already have a bachelor's degree, meet with a Pre-admissions Advisor for graduate advising..
If you are planning on a major in Child, Youth, and Family Studies or Social Work, we recommend attending a School of Social Work Information Session before meeting with an advisor.
