Family Resources

It is our belief that your understanding - as a parent or family member - of Portland State University, and the support that you provide to your PSU student, will assist in your student's ability to be successful.

We hope that you will plan to attend an Orientation: Advising and Registration Day with your new PSU student.  These sessions occur before the start of each new term.

FALL TERM
Since many new PSU students begin during Fall term, there are multiple day-long Orientation: Advising and Registration Days.  Families of transfer students are welcome to attend these sessions with their student.  For families of freshmen students, PSU hosts a Family Program that allows families to attend portions of Orientation: Advising and Registration Days with their student and other portions separate from their student.  These sessions are designed to educate you about the resources available to PSU students and the transitions that many students and families experience during this academic journey.  We encourage all new PSU students to consider bringing up to two guests with him/her to Orientation.

Below are options for families of students beginning Fall term 2013:

Families of Freshmen Students: Family Program*
