Cancel Admission

If you have applied to PSU but have not yet received an admission decision, contact admissions@pdx.edu.

Admitted to PSU, have not registered for classes:

  1. Log in to your application status page and complete the required form: "Confirm Your Enrollment at PSU." Select "I DECLINE my offer of admission to Portland State University." If you have already confirmed your enrollment and would like to cancel, contact the Admissions Office to cancel your application.
  2. Cancel your financial aid. Canceling your admission may impact your financial aid award, including scholarships and loans, and may impact your ability to receive financial aid elsewhere. Contact the Office of Financial Aid directly to cancel your financial aid.
  3. Cancel your housing contract (if applicable). Housing contracts must be canceled separately. Contact Housing to cancel your contract.

Admitted to PSU, have registered for classes, academic term has not begun:

  1. Drop all classes for your upcoming term. Complete all applicable steps on the Withdrawal Checklist.​ It is the student’s responsibility to drop or withdraw from courses by the deadline dates in the Academic Calendar.
  2. Contact the Admissions Office to cancel your application. You must drop all your classes before you can cancel your applications.
  3. Cancel your financial aid. Canceling your admission may impact your financial aid award, including scholarships and loans, and may impact your ability to receive financial aid elsewhere. Contact the Office of Financial Aid directly to cancel your financial aid.
  4. Cancel your housing contract (if applicable). Housing contracts must be canceled separately. Contact Housing to cancel your contract.

Students who plan to drop or withdraw from all of their courses should ​speak with the Registrar's Office or ​review and complete all applicable steps on the Withdrawal Checklist.​
