  1. Scott Burns, Geology faculty, gave a talk at Science Talk, the national conference on Science Communication, called “Interacting with the News Media” on Apr. 12 in Portland, Oregon.
  2. Jenna DePasquale, Sociology graduate student, and Maura Kelly, Sociology faculty, served as PSU representatives at a prospective graduate student fair Mar. 21-24 at the annual meeting of the Pacific Sociological Association in San Diego.
  3. Debra Harris, Public Health, was selected by the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of New Mexico to give the Convocation Speech to the graduating class, on May 11, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 
  4. Paola López-Duarte, Environmental Science and Management faculty, was a participant at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Inclusive and Equitable Ocean Workshop in February in Irvine, California.
  5. Cassio de Oliveira, World Languages and Literatures faculty, participated in a roundtable dedicated to his first book, Writing Rogues: The Soviet Picaresque and Identity Formation, 1921-1938, on Apr. 12 at the 2024 Northwest Regional Conference for Russian, East European, and Central Asian Studies (REECAS Northwest) in Seattle.
  6. Hyeyoung Woo, Sociology faculty, served as a Session Organizer for three sessions (Higher Education and Professional Occupations, Marginalized Work Sectors, Labor Industries and Structures) Mar. 21-24 at the annual meeting of Pacific Sociological Association in San Diego.
