Take your career to the next level with our graduate programs. Our programs are designed to train geology students beyond the baccalaureate degree for professional employment or for advanced graduate work.

We offer a master's in geology with an option in geohydrology; a professional science master's in applied geoscience; certificates in hydrogeology, environmental geology, and engineering geology; and a shared doctoral program, Earth, Environment & Society.

Our certificates can represent a portion of a professional geologist’s recognized training, as well as a portion of the background needed by registered geologists in the state of Oregon. You can also apply the certificates toward a graduate degree.

Deadline is Jan. 15 for Ph.D. and M.S. applications. Applicants to the Ph.D. and Thesis-based M.S. programs should contact a potential advisor prior to applying.

You may apply to the Professional Science Master's Program (M.S. in Applied Geosciences) anytime. We review PSM applications all year and there is no need to identify a potential advisor prior to applying.
