Named for a western educator and poet, the Paul Croy Environmental Scholarship was established to provide support to students who are pursuing academic and career goals related to preservation of the environment. This will be awarded to an outstanding students with career interests in the social and policy aspects of environmental protection and management.
Dr. Commoner is an internationally known environmental scientist; founder of the Center for the Biology of Natural Systems at Queen’s College, and a former candidate for President of the United States. The Barry Commoner Environmental Scholarship was established to provide support to students who are pursuing academic and career goals related to preservation of the environment. One $500 scholarship will be awarded.
Professor David Dunnette was one of the founding members of the department. An endowment was established in his memory to support graduate student travel to present their research at meetings. One award is given each year.
The Bushby family established an endowment for the support of outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in our program. This fellowship supports a graduate students in our program that have financial need.
This scholarship will provide students with much needed support for tuition, travel, books and supplies. The ESM Endowed Scholarship fund has a goal of raising $25,000 in 5 years. Dr. John Rueter, an established ESM faculty, has pledged $5,000 to get the fund started.
