Alison manages public-university partnerships for ISS. She currently manages the USGS-PSU Partnership (UPP), a collaboration with the US Geological Survey's Oregon Water Science Center (ORWSC) which is located on PSU's campus. In this role, she helps catalyze joint research projects, develop a variety of student opportunities, and facilitates sharing data and resources. Prior to joining PSU, her career  included many different positions, from 7th grade science teacher to upstream public health advocate. The bulk of her career, however, has been spent developing sustainability solutions for the public, private and non-profit sectors. On Saturdays, you can usually find Alison hiking in Tryon Creek park, reading a mystery novel or book about entrepreneurship, testing out a new recipe in the kitchen, backyard birdwatching, or plotting her next travel adventure.
