Below is the BSCE Course Plan. Students may take 300 and 400-level coursework after admission to the Upper Division.

Students may meet with a CEE academic adviser to discuss a modified plan or reduced course load.

Additional Course Plan Notes:

  • EC 314U is a required course for Civil Engineering students. 
  • Upper Division Cluster: beginning with the 2022-23 catalog, all Portland State undergraduate students must fulfill the Race and Ethnic Studies requirement (RESR) to earn their bachelor's degrees. Speak with an adviser before selecting Sophomore Inquiry and Upper Division Cluster courses.
  • Transportation Elective: Choose one of the following, CE 450, CE 458, CE 459, CE 462, or CE 493. Additional courses count toward BSCE elective coursework
  • Structural Elective: Choose one of the following, CE 432 or CE 434. Students interested in structural engineering should take both; one will count as four credits of BSCE elective coursework.
