Tania Sanchez was born in San Jose, CA and was raised in Beaverton, OR. After graduating from Southridge High School, she attended Portland State University. In 2011, Tania received her degree in Spanish and became the first in her family to graduate from college. Upon graduation, she began her professional career working at the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber as a scholarship coordinator. It was there that she discovered her passion for working with students to help access higher education. Her passion for education led her back to Portland State, where she joined the admissions team in 2013. Tania considers PSU her "second home" and feels fortunate to be part of such an innovative and dedicated team. She serves as a liaison for various community partners and sits on number of committees on campus, including the Diversity Scholarship committee, Undocumented Resources Group and Refugee and Immigrant Student Issues. Tania recently received a Masters in Education from Portland State University and is excited to continue working in higher education.
