If you’ve ever wanted a holistic resource not only detailing current urban planning policies and issues in Oregon, but also predicting what the state could look like in twenty-five years as a result, look no further. Toward Oregon 2050: Planning a Better Future is here to answer your questions.

Edited by Toulan School research affiliate faculty member Megan Horst and published by Oregon State University Press, Toward Oregon 2050 brings together land use and planning experts, scholars, and community partners to envision plans to guide the state through the coming years. Intended for all Oregonians who care about their state’s future, the book can inform readers how they can help their communities build resilience against climate change, environmental harms, and social inequities.

Several current and former Toulan School professors contributed to the book: Matthew Gebhardt, Marisa Zapata, Jenny Liu, Connie Ozawa, and Moriah McSharry McGrath along with Megan Horst. Other authors include John MacArthur (sustainable transportation program manager at PSU’s Transportation Research and Education Center), Ethan Sharygin (director of the Population Research Center at PSU), and Vivek Shandas (PSU professor and founder of the Sustaining Urban Places Research Lab).
