How the Permit Works

  1. Scan the QR Code
    • Use your phone’s camera or a QR code app to access the registration page.
  2. Enter Your Details
    • License Plate Number (include stacked letters, no dashes, no spaces)
    • PSU ID Number
  3. Activate Your Session
    • Once submitted, your parking session is immediately active and valid until 11:59 PM.

When does my permit start?

  • Service begins the day after purchase, to allow for processing time with the vendor platform.
  • Purchases made by the 10th of the month qualify for same-month payroll deduction.
  • Purchases made after the 10th will incur a Partial Monthly Fee to be paid at the time of purchase. Payroll deductions will then begin the following month.

What happens if I run out of days?

If you use all your days in a given week, you’ll need to purchase daily parking (Parking Kitty or kiosks) until your wallet resets on Sunday.

If this happens often, a full-time permit may be a better option.

Do I need to scan the QR code every time I park?

Yes. A session must be started each day you park. The physical permit helps enforcement but is not valid without an active session. Failure to initiate a session may result in a citation.

Can I schedule my parking days in advance?

No. Sessions must be initiated upon arrival to campus.

Are weekends included?

Yes. Weekend parking requires a session just like weekdays and will be deducted from your weekly balance.

Why did I receive a warning citation?

If you received a warning citation, you may have forgotten a step in the process. Before you leave your vehicle, please check the following:

  • You started a new session when you arrived by scanning your QR Code and entering your details. Note: You can choose to have a session receipt emailed to you for confirmation.
  • The physical permit is visible from outside the vehicle through the windshield. The physical permit assists enforcement officers during patrol , and is still required.
  • Remember, your permit is not valid unless a session is active AND the physical permit is displayed.

Can I use more than one vehicle?

You can switch vehicles, but only one vehicle per day can be registered with your permit. Remember to transfer your physical permit to the vehicle you will be driving to campus.

Can I switch between PTFlex and other permits?

Yes, but be advised that any changes to payroll deductions must be completed before the 10th of each month.

Exchanges after the 10th will not be qualified for a partial refund.

Bring the permit you’d like to exchange to the Transportation & Parking Services office for assistance.

Can I use the PayByPhone App?

The PTFlex program is not compatible with the PayByPhone platform app. Your digital wallet is only accessible through the link provided at purchase (QR Code).
