Individuals who earn up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level will qualify for the reduced fare program. Under current federal poverty guidelines, individuals earning an annual income up to $24,980 would qualify for the program, as would a family of four with earnings up to $48,600.

Those interested in the reduced fare must register and once their eligibility is confirmed, they will receive an Honored Citizen fare card. Participants will be able to purchase Adult Fare single use and day passes at half cost and Adult Fare month passes at a cost of 72-percent less than the price of a standard pass.

The application process is detailed on the TriMet website and TriMet is now able to verify your eligibility remotely at the Reduced Fare page.

Universal Streetcar Access

Do you make most of your trips within the central city? Do you ride your bike to campus but like to use the Streetcar to go to Biology class at RLSB? Tired of the food carts on campus and want to hit up the culinary delights of downtown or the Pearl District?

Good news: you can ride the Portland Streetcar for free any time of day, any time of year. All you need is your PSU ID card!

Emergency Ride Home Program

PSU employees enrolled in the Passport Program may utilize Emergency Ride Home services at no charge. In the event of an emergency involving you or an immediate family member, we will arrange for a taxi ride to either your home address or a local medical facility.

How to request an emergency ride home:

  • Contact Transportation & Parking Services (TAPS) during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm) or Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO) at all other hours
  • TAPS or CPSO will contact a participating taxi company to arrange your emergency ride
  • TAPS or CPSO will provide you with a voucher that must be presented in place of payment to the cab driver at the beginning of your taxi ride
  • The taxi driver will fill out the voucher, ask you to sign the voucher and give you a copy of the voucher to be returned to PSU Transportation & Parking Services (in person or my inter-office mail)

TriMet Fare Sales

PSU Transportation & Parking Services is a recognized TriMet outlet. We offer new TriMet Hop cards and also can load existing Hop cards with value.
