Amazon Business Prime on ePSU Marketplace

Going forward, all PSU Amazon purchases must be made through our new Central Amazon Business Prime Account, which is accessed exclusively through ePSU

The ePSU Marketplace, Contracting & Procurement Services, and FADM teams are excited to announce after months of planning, Amazon Business Prime is now provided through ePSU Marketplace.

Going forward, all PSU Amazon purchases must be made through our new Central Amazon Business Prime Account, which is accessed exclusively through ePSU Marketplace.  You should not use your pdx.edu email address to set up an Amazon account outside of PSU's Central Amazon Account.

This change aims to:

  • Meet the Strategic Goals of Portland State University by:
    • Diversifying our purchases by providing users strategic access and increased visibility to local, small, and diverse sellers
    • Increasing our sustainable purchases by providing users increased access to sustainable sellers and products
    • Ensuring compliance with pCard and mandatory Portland State University policies through automatic blocks and restrictions on unauthorized items
  • Create a Centralized Amazon Account for the University
    • Which Decreases Costs By:
      • Decreasing Amazon Membership Costs (as there will only be one Central Amazon Prime Account for the University)
        • In the last Fiscal Year, the University as a whole spent $4226.38 in individual Amazon Prime Membership
      • Decreasing Shipping Costs as Free Shipping will be a Benefit of Amazon Business Prime
        • In the last Fiscal Year, the University spent $1855.00 on shipping costs for Amazon transactions that took place via the old Amazon account on ePSU Marketplace
      • Ensuring items are purchased on applicable negotiated contracts and price lists/agreements
    • And Increase Revenues
      • By increasing purchases through ePSU Marketplace resulting in an increased rebate for the University

As part of this change, we will also be integrating the Amazon Punchout with PSU’s Single Sign On (SSO), thus eliminating the need for a separate login to access Amazon.

For our users that have always purchased with Amazon via ePSU Marketplace, you will see no change other than the PSU SSO Integration, blocks/restrictions on unauthorized items, and the benefits awarded to us by upgrading to Amazon Business Prime (such as free shipping).

For those pCard users that have been purchasing with Amazon outside of ePSU Marketplace on their own Amazon, Amazon Business, and Amazon Prime accounts, the Amazon and ePSU Marketplace Team will be reaching out to you via email in the coming weeks to discuss the process of migrating. This will include linking your current account with the new Centralized Amazon Business Prime Account. If you don’t already have access to ePSU Marketplace, we will provide it to you.

To succeed this must be a collaborative process. We want to ensure that this migration is a smooth transition for everyone. We will answer any questions and address any concerns you have to the best of our ability.  We appreciate your cooperation in this process.

We are extremely excited about this opportunity for Portland State University and look forward to working with you through this change. Feel free to contact us any time at eprocure@pdx.edu
