About Organizational Development

This program focuses on enhancing organizational capacity and effectiveness with a focus on four interrelated core content areas: coaching, teamwork, systems thinking, and change management. Instructors will bring real-world expertise and provide immediately applicable tools for students to begin building more effective organizations.

An organization is most effective when its people, strategies, systems, and processes are in alignment. In this program, students will learn about the interconnectedness of organizational capacity and effectiveness through the perspectives of:

The individual 
Learn the fundamental aspects of being a coach and how to apply coaching methods and strategies within teams and organizations

The team
Explore employee engagement frameworks and gain the tools and skills to create and empower effective teams

The organization
Learn the tools and vocabulary integral to a systems thinking approach, which can be used to gain insight into the root causes of organizational challenges and generate effective organizational solutions over time. Understand how individuals and organizations as “systems” react to change, and learn strategies to effectively manage the process.

CEPE aspires to allow students up to 3 years to complete a certificate program, however, CEPE's program offerings can fluctuate due to market/community demand. Therefore, we reserve the right to cancel or revise a program at any time. This means that CEPE does not guarantee the completion of any certificate, so if certificate completion is a student's goal, we encourage completion as quickly as possible when courses are available.

This program is for individuals interested in the “people” side of business and who want to learn how to more effectively develop individuals, teams, and organizations.

4 Required Certificate Courses

Courses may be taken individually and in any order unless otherwise noted.
If pursuing the certificate, all courses in the certificate program must be completed within three years. A recommended sequence is below.

  • BO209: Leader as Coach
    • Learn fundamental aspects of being a coach and how to apply coaching methods and strategies within teams and organizations.
  • BO211: Teams
    • Learn employee engagement frameworks and gain the tools and skills to create and empower effective teams.
  • BO213: Systems Thinking
    • Learn the tools and vocabulary integral to a systems thinking approach, which can be used to gain insight into root causes of organizational challenges and generate effective organizational solutions over time.
  • BO210: Change Management
    • Understand how individuals and organizations as “systems” react to change, and learn strategies to effectively manage the process. 
    • **BO210: Change Management also counts towards the completion of the Change Management certificate program
