Audit a course in Judaic Studies

In Judaic Studies, we take the 3,000-year-long history and culture of the Jews as our point of departure for grappling with urgent human questions about justice and knowledge, tradition and change, and crisis and resilience. The faculty and staff  of the Harold Schnitzer Family Program in Judaic Studies at Portland State University are available to help you register for our classes.  

First: Identify the course you would like from our upcoming term's course offerings. Note the course code and CRN  number.

Second: Join SALC. The Senior Adult Learning Center (SALC) at PSU facilitates and encourages lifelong learning for Oregon residents 65 years of age or older by registering them as auditors (a one-time fee of $25) and offering access to most of Portland State University’s classes at little to no cost. Our in-person classes are free. Online and hybrid courses carry a small fee.

Third: Contact the professor of the course via email to request permission to join class.

• Scroll down this page to see professor photos along with a link to their biography and contact page. Send an email to the professor of the course you'd like to take.

Fourth: Forward the professor's response to salc@pdx.edu. They will help you enroll for the course. 

• Once you have joined SALC you may register for courses using the course code (e.g. HST 318U)  and CRN (course registration number): https://www.pdx.edu/senior-adult-learning-center/how-to-register

When do classes begin next term?
