In a 2017 PSU Student survey (887 total respondents), we found:
66% indicated that study abroad is a desirable part of their experience but not realistic because:

  1. “It’s not relevant to my degree”
  2. "I don’t have time”
  3. “It’s not affordable”

Short-Term Faculty-Led Programs address these barriers by:

  1. Designing programs to meet the needs of specific majors, keeping students on track to graduation
  2. Offering opportunities short enough to fit in working students' vacation schedules
  3. Short-term programs are among the least expensive options to study abroad
