Study Abroad Programs - PC

The Center for International and English Learning offers two types of longer term study abroad program that can last one term, a half- year or "semester", or a full academic year. Each program allows for you to start your study abroad at PSU during any term (fall, winter, spring, and summer). 

Please note, if you are interested in studying abroad through a "short term" (one month or less) program at PSU that information is our our short term programs pages. 

IELP (Intensive English Language Program) Study Abroad 

For students who are focused on their English language skills and / or may not have a high enough TOEFL for the Portland Center or other options study abroad in our regular Intensive English Language Program. Students take a regular course load and will take a placement test at the beginning of their study abroad experience in order to receive their class schedule.

Portland Center Study Abroad 

For students who are have a high enough TOEFL qualify for studying through the Portland Center and receive specialized English instruction, in addition to being able to take classes in other disciplines with traditional PSU students. Students course load and options will depend on their TOEFL/IELTS score and always include a targeted Academic English support class.
