Monika Mulder: Lead Instructor for the Portland Center

Monika Mulder earned her BA in TEFL from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in her home country, Poland, and her MA TESOL from Portland State University. She has been teaching English in the United States, Poland, Hungary, and Vietnam across the full spectrum of instructional levels (literacy to college transitional ESL) for various student populations and institutions for more than twenty years.

In addition to teaching English as a second and foreign language, she has considerable experience in teacher training, curriculum development, and academic student services. Monika has been an active member of professional organizations, including TESOL, NAFSA,  ORTESOL, and EnglishUSA. 

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, listening to audiobooks, and exploring  the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Anri Zama: Program Manager for the Portland Center

Anri has served as Program Manager to the Portland Center since 2014. Prior to this (2010 - 2014), she served as a student staff. She holds a master’s degree of science in Communication Studies from Portland State University, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan. 

Anri was born and raised in Kanagawa, Japan and moved to Portland, OR in 2008. 

In her free time, she enjoys her family, reading, relaxing, traveling, baking, and eating delicious foods.

Eowyn Ferey: Interim Director for the Portland Center

Eowyn Ferey is the Interim Director of the Portland Center.  She holds an MA in Applied Linguistics, earned with Distinction Standard, from the University of Essex in Colchester, England as well as a BA in Geography from Central Washington University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.  

Eowyn began her career in international education as a teacher in Seoul, South Korea.  Since that first position, she has taught learners from all over the world in many different contexts as well as working as a teacher trainer and curriculum developer.  Her current focus is on international program administration in higher education.  

In her free time, she enjoys knitting, sewing, reading, and adding houseplants to her indoor jungle.
