Projects

This work is performed on new or existing buildings related to structural, mechanical, electrical and architectural systems. The CPC group is also responsible for the planning, execution, and management of all capital construction projects and improvements on campus. Basic cartographic and the demographic studies also fall within this realm. Our group updates campus and University District maps and accommodates growth needs due to increasing student enrollment and utilization of campus facilities. SB1/Vernier Science Center

Science Building 1 is undergoing a major renovation, adding new exterior elements to make the space more welcoming and updating the interior to make it more accessible and up-to-date. The building will be renamed in honor of longtime Portland State University supporters Christine and David Vernier.

This project began in 2021.

Art & Design

A new building, the Art & Design building, will replace the skatepark next to Shattuck Hall.

This project began in 2022.

Parkway Residence Hall Demolition

The Parkway Residence Hall is being demolished.

This project began in 2023.

King Albert Residence Hall Demolition

The King Albert Residence Hall is being demolished.

This project began in 2023.

Harder House Demolition

Harder House is being demolished.

This project began in 2023.

Fourth Avenue Building Re-Roof

Project replaced the old, leaking, energy inefficient roof with a new modern one.

This project began in 2021.

Landscape Yard Renovation

The landscape yard between Peter Stott Center and West Heating Plant is being improved to provide storage for campus landscape crews and equipment and to create a secure, centralized trash/recycling area for campus.

Completed Projects

Vanport Building

PSU, PCC, OHSU, and City of Portland have constructed a new building on the previous site of a parking lot east of ASRC. The seven-story Vanport Building will contain a variety of uses including ground level retail, classrooms, a dental clinic, academic and non-academic offices.

Fariborz Maseeh Hall Renovation

A comprehensive modernization of Fariborz Maseeh Hall (formerly Neuberger Hall) including seismic stability, accessibility, and hazmat abatement.

Saint Helens Residence Hall Repiping and Renovation

Upgrade to building-wide piping system to improve bathroom and kitchen features as well as cosmetic upgrades to student apartments.

Peter Stott Center and Viking Pavilion

Renovation and expansion of the Peter Stott Center that addresses all deferred maintenance, adds a multi-purpose arena, creates student lounges and study space, and engages the South Park Blocks.

School of Business Renovation and Expansion

Renovation and expansion of the School of Business Administration into the Karl Miller Center with a new addition to the North end of the building, entrance, and retail spaces as well as modernization and upgrades of the existing physical and mechanical structure.

Campus Cycle Station

A bike storage facility and food cart pod conveniently located across from the library and the park blocks, next door to the Blackstone and Montgomery residence halls.

Green Zebra Retail Development

Retail tenant build out project for the Green Zebra grocery store which includes exterior facade and interior improvements as well as improvements to the existing parking area such as new bicycle storage.

5th Avenue Cinema Upgrades

Renovation of the entry and lobby of the campus cinema, improving accessibility, adding concessions, and upgrading the finishes throughout.

Campus Steam & Chilled Water Loop Phase 2

Campus Loop Phase II created a continuous steam and chilled water loop throughout the Park Blocks with the addition of tunnels connecting Millar Library to Science Building 2 and Shattuck Hall. Steam and chilled water are used to heat and cool our large campus buildings.

Lincoln Hall Broadway Tower Addition

The Broadway Tower Addition created a new glass tower and street level lobby. Interior upgrades included new and renovated dance and acting studios.

Robertson Life Sciences Building

Originally called CLSB (Collaborative LIfe Sciences Building), RLSB was a collaborative project between OHSU, OSU and PSU creating a state of the art facility for life sciences, research and teaching, plus a future home for PSU Chemistry and Biology Departments and OSU School of Pharmacy.

University Center Building SHAC Expansion

The new space greets students when they enter the third floor, making the location of the dental and other health services obvious. The remodel also improved the health center’s testing services department with additional space and combined their split locations into one space.

Blumel Hall Repipe and Remodel

This upgrade re-piped the domestic water line, replaced the roof, the roof top HVAC units, installed new fire alarm panel, installed energy efficient lighting in the units, improved parking lighting, updated the room finishes and made other enhancements.

West Heating Plant Boiler Renovation

This project demolished and replaced boilers and installed new steam and condensate piping in the plant. It also replaced associated piping in the tunnels and Cramer Hall.
