We believe in planning for social equity and environmental sustainability

We believe that planning can make places better—more just, sustainable, and prosperous. Our faculty have a diverse range of identities in terms of race/ethnicity, country of origin, LGBTQ+ status, and more.  Our commitment to diversity and equity can also be found in our MURP curriculum (check out Student Learning Outcome 1), faculty-led research, and our community engagement efforts. View a summary of our school’s efforts here. MURP and other students participate on the Belonging, Dignity and Justice committee.

Many of our faculty, staff, and students engage deeply in efforts to green our campus, city and built environments, too. As one example, see this Planetizen profile of Hugo Agosto and his focus on equity and sustainability as a MUPR student and alum.
