MURP Workshop Kickoff 2026

Students present community projects at MURP Workshop Kickoff

An audience watches a presentation on heat resilience focus areas delivered by MURP student Luke Gordon in a crowded lecture hall at the 2026 MURP Workshop Kickoff.

On Monday, the eight teams of students from this year’s Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) Workshop class presented their projects at the 2026 MURP Workshop Kickoff.

The Urban Center was filled with over 100 students, faculty, industry professionals, and community members interested in learning about the students’ projects and eager to offer their advice.

MURP Workshop attendees engage in conversation with different groups to discuss their projects.

Meet This Year's Teams and Community Partners:

The teams will continue to work on their projects until the end of the school year. They will present their results publicly on Monday, June 1.

The MURP Workshop course gives students hands-on planning experience by providing them with the opportunity to work with community partners on real issues in and around Portland. Learn more about the course here.
