When and How to Promote to Local Media / Working with University Communications

Most university events won’t be of interest to local media, but if you or your faculty believe that your event will be of interest to the media, talk to the communications manager in your school or college as early as possible to seek their expertise. If appropriate, that person may contact the media relations team in University Communications for additional support with pitching media and placing stories and interviews in local publications and beyond.
