TriMet Student Transit Pass

The Student Transit Pass is a partially subsidized transit pass that can be used on both the TriMet and C-TRAN LOCAL systems throughout the region.

Cost:

Student Passes can be purchased for just $100 each term, a 66% savings compared to the public rate. Passes must be purchased in full from PSU. 

Summer term passes will be valid from 6/20-9/30.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a current PSU student, no credit requirement for Summer term
  • Must have a valid photo ID
  • Must agree to the terms and conditions of the Student Transit Pass program. Transit Passes cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded.
  • If your Hop card is lost, there is a $3 replacement charge

Best Deal: TriMet Reduced Fare Program

If you receive a Pell Grant, you automatically qualify for the TriMet Reduced Fare Program, which offers 50% off single-use tickets and day passes, and a 72% discount on monthly passes. 

Eligibility is also open to individuals with an annual income of $31,300 or less, and families of four earning at or below $64,300. You also automatically qualify if you are enrolled in programs like Oregon Health Plan/Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, HUD, WIC, LIHEAP, Free & Reduced Lunch, or Employment Related Daycare.

You can enroll in the Reduced Fare Program online via TriMet's Webpage or by visiting our office in person. Please be prepared with a State-Issued ID card and your program qualifying documentation (i.e, a copy of your Pell Grant aware, OHP Card, etc.)

Portland Streetcar is Free to Students!

The Portland Streetcar is free to all PSU students! All you need is your PSU ID card, this will act as your fare.
