Important Permit Information

All parking permits purchased online will be mailed to customers within 1-2 business days from the date of purchase to the address provided at checkout. You will be issued a temporary printable permit via email to display until your permit arrives at the address provided in your online transaction.

Please read carefully for important information about your permit and parking at PSU. 

Parking Regulations:

  • The entire permit must be clearly visible at all times.
  • A vehicle displaying a permit must be registered with PSU
  • The vehicle must have current license plates and registration.
  • Not valid in hourly pay-to-park or reserved spaces
  • Void if altered, copied, or sold, and subject to citation
  • Commuter permits are not valid for overnight parking.
  • PSU is not responsible or liable for damage to or theft of your vehicle or its contents. 

Accessible Parking

Accessible/disabled parking spaces are available in all parking lots and structures operated by PSU. Any PSU parking permit is valid in any accessible space, regardless of location, when displaying a valid DMV disabled parking placard. Day and time restrictions still apply to time-limited PSU permits.

How to Display Your Parking Permit: 

Parking Permits should be placed on the back rear window of your vehicle, OR if needed, they can be placed on your front driver-side window or with a hangtag on your rearview mirror. The permit must be visible at all times. Please see the example below for permit placement.

Account Privacy

All account information, including name, contact, license plate, permit history, citation history, and account balances, are kept private by PSU. This information is only used for business purposes and is not disclosed to individuals other than the account holder. A valid account number, license plate, or citation number must be provided to obtain any of the information listed above or information deemed private to the account by PSU staff.

How to park until you pick up your permit:

If you purchased a permit online within two weeks of the academic term start, you would be emailed a link to a temporary, printable permit valid for seven days from the date of purchase. You must follow the link and print your temporary permit within five days of your online purchase. 

What to do if you forget/lose your permit:

You must always display your parking permit when parked on campus, or you will e subject to a citation. If you don't have your permit for any reason, please visit the attended kiosk at Parking Structure One or Parking Structure Three to get a one-day parking pass. Permit holders may use this option up to three times per month. If your permit is lost or missing, please visit our office to report your permit lost and request a replacement. There is a $25 replacement fee for lost permits. 

Part-time permits and finals week:

Part-time permits are valid all hours and all days during finals week of the associated term. Location restrictions still apply.

Terms of Service for PSU Parking Permits: 

  1. All permit fees are based on possession of the permit, not use. If your permit is lost or stolen, you are responsible for any fees accrued until the loss is reported to Transportation & Parking Services. There is a $25 replacement fee for lost permits. 
  2. Refunds, returns, or exchanges can only be made with the return of the physical parking permit. Permits may be returned for a pro-rated refund or exchange through the 8th week of the term in fall, winter, and spring and anytime during the summer term. Refunds, returns, and exchanges will be subject to a $5 fee per transaction. 
  3. Academic Year Commuter permits will be billed at the quarterly cost of the permit at the beginning of each term (Fall, Winter, Spring). To discontinue billing, the permit must be physically returned to the Transportation and Parking Office. 
  4. Parking permits must be clearly displayed and fully visible from outside the vehicle.
  5. All vehicles displaying a PSU permit must be registered to that permit. Any vehicle not correctly displaying a valid permit will be subject to a parking citation.
  6. Permits may only be used in accessible parking spaces if the vehicle displays a disabled placard.
  7. Permit holders must be legally licensed to drive.
  8. Vehicles parked on campus must have current license plates and registration and be insured under a motor vehicle liability insurance policy.
  9. Permit holders will be responsible for all parking and citation debts for any associated vehicle registered to PSU. 
  10. Permit holders must abide by all PSU policies and the PSU Code of Conduct. Violations may result in the permit cancelation and exclusion from PSU Parking Facilities. 

PERMIT REFUNDS

Parking permit charges are based on possession of the permit, not use. Pro-rated refunds are available until the end of week eight for fall, winter, and spring terms. Permits must be physically returned to Transportation and Parking as soon as they are no longer needed to receive the maximum refund available. Please visit our office at 1812 SW 6th Avenue to initiate a return.
