About Leadership

High performers are often promoted to leadership positions given that they have excelled using specific skills related to their areas of expertise. However, they may not be fully prepared for the complex spectrum of leadership responsibilities, which include managing people, motivating teams, managing budgets, and creating and executing strategy.

In today’s competitive landscape, every organization needs leaders with diverse skill sets to effectively move business forward. In this program, participants will gain a deeper understanding of a leader’s role while building and honing their skills in five areas: leadership principles, finance, strategy, communication, and innovation.

CEPE aspires to allow students up to 3 years to complete a certificate program, however, CEPE's program offerings can fluctuate due to market/community demand. Therefore, we reserve the right to cancel or revise a program at any time. This means that CEPE does not guarantee the completion of any certificate, so if certificate completion is a student's goal, we encourage completion as quickly as possible when courses are available.

Who Should Attend

Professionals in any industry who are new to a leadership role or established leaders who need to refresh their skills. Course content is also appropriate for aspiring leaders and those interested in familiarizing themselves with some of the core concepts in an MBA program but are not ready to fully commit the time and resources for a degree program.

5 Required Certificate Courses

Courses may be taken individually and in any order unless otherwise noted. If pursuing the certificate, all courses in the certificate program must be completed within three years. A recommended sequence is below.

MG401: Finance
- Learn core concepts in finance and accounting; practice analyzing and interpreting financial reports; and develop the vocabulary to discuss issues and justify budget proposals more effectively.
MG402: Strategy
- Learn a variety of strategy development tools and how the use of the tools can deliver logical, actionable strategies.
MG403: Communication
- Develop self-awareness around personal styles and hone interpersonal communication skills to more effectively develop business relationships and drive results.

How to Register

MG404: Innovation
- Learn how to leverage innovation as an essential growth strategy.
MG405: Leadership
- Gain clarity on the alignment between personal and organizational missions, visions, and values, and build a strong foundation for organizational leadership development.
