Student Support - COVID-19 Resources
The Judaic Studies major is part of the Language, Culture, and Meaning Pathway. Students may take advantage of academic advising offered by the excellent advisors of this pathway. Martha, Roxanne, Tanya, and Jon are dedicated to student success and to helping students understand and realize their professional and personal goals. Students are assigned to an advisor based on the last 2 digits of their PSU ID number, but students may change advisors if they wish. Advisors can help students with course scheduling, declaring a major, thinking about graduate education, and exploring career paths.

Directions to our offices
The Harold Schnitzer Family Program in Judaic Studies at Portland State University is located on the fourth floor of the University Center Building (UCB) in Suite 465. UCB fills the block between SW 5th Ave and SW 6th Ave, and SW Harrison Street and SW Hall Street.
You will want to enter the building through either the glass doors on the middle of the SW 5th Ave block, or those on the SW Harrison or SW Hall Street doors marked "University Center Building".
Entering from SW Hall Street: The doors are located just past the entrance to SHAC, and before the Parking Garage. Take the evelator to the fourth floor. You will then follow the signs down the hallway and down another hallway to the right to the Judaic Studies office.
Entering from SW Harrison Street: The doors are located between the McDonalds and the Parking Garage. Take the elevator to the fourth floor, head right out of the elevators and follow the first hallway on your left to the Judaic Studies office.
Entering from SW 5th Ave: The doors are located in the middle of the block, just south of the food trucks. Take the elevator to the fourth floor, head right out of the elevators, and our office is directly ahead.
Accessible Entrance: There is a wheelchair ramp located on the SW Hall Street side of the building. The entrance to the Harrison side is also wheelchair accessible.
Judaic Studies is highly accessible via public transit. Trimet has a number of stops nearby. The following public transit options are located within a block of our building, located at 1881 SW 5th Ave:
MAX Yellow Line
MAX Green Line
We highly recommend using public transit.
The PSU Office of Transportation & Parking Services provides detailed information about hourly and visitor parking available on campus. Due to our downtown location, parking can be a challenge. Be sure to plan ahead, leave plenty of time to get here, and use public transit if possible.
If you plan to use PSU parking options, we recommend the Fifth Avenue Parking Lot, University Center Parking Garage, or Parking Structure 1.
Hourly, metered street parking can be found near the University Center Building. Most of the meters near UCB are 3 hours. A map of meter locations and lengths is available through the Portland Bureau of Transportation. They also provide information as to current rates.
There are also a number of locations for bicycle parking.
There are accessible parking spaces located in all PSU operated parking lots and structures. Map of accessible parking spaces is available through the PSU Transportation page, as well as additional information about accessible parking.
Welcome to Portland State University!
