About:

A ‘Brit abroad’, Nichola Farron has lived in Portland for several years. Following degrees in Holocaust studies and Holocaust research, she continues to collaborate on various topics and conferences related to victims of Nazi human experimentation and coerced research. Her class on Holocaust studies makes particular reference to the wider social and military impacts of the rise of Nazism and the occupation of European communities. Her aim is to invite scholarly interest, but also human empathy, in class students. A growing interest in the ‘micro-history’ approach to exploring the Holocaust, she encourages students to consider the stories of individuals.

An adjunct instructor, Nichola also works in Learning & Development for local government, as well as teaching Holocaust studies for local institutions. She lives with her British husband and feline and canine colleagues.
