You know you like movies—but do you know why you like them? Learn how to articulate and appreciate the finer points of filmmaking in our MMU class “What Is Movie?”

In this two-hour class, we’ll provide a basic introduction to film appreciation and theory. Through lecture, discussion, and clips illustrating pivotal developments in film history, our instructor will introduce key concepts and vocabulary, and provide opportunities to apply them in discussion with your classmates. You’ll emerge with a newfound ability to understand and appreciate the language of film.

This course will be taught by Movie Madness University Instructor Kia Geraths.

Class will be held in room LH115 in Lincoln Hall, at 1620 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97201 on the Portland State University Campus.

PSU Students are free with valid student ID! Present ID at door for admission - no ticket needed.

Please note: no food or beverage is permitted in the auditorium.
