Nhu To-Haynes


Nhu To-Haynes is a public health consultant and instructor with over 25 years of public health experience at both local and state levels of government. Dedicated to providing innovative and comprehensive technical assistance to health programs in rural and urban settings, Nhu’s diverse experience working with groups and communities in the area of nutrition; public health; outreach, marketing; and health equity is what keeps her motivated and inspired. Specializing
in intergovernmental relations, building collaborations and strategic partnerships with both public and private sectors is at the heart of Nhu’s career. Nhu is also currently an adjunct instructor with the Oregon Health Sciences University/ Portland State University School of Public Health, in Portland, Oregon.

Nhu has a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Food Management from Oregon State University and holds a Master’s in Public Administration Health Administration from Portland State University. She served six years on the Board of Directors with the Immigrant Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), she has spent her entire career working in community nutrition and public health with a passion for working to ensure community voices are both represented and heard. Nhu also served two years as an HIV/AIDS Coordinator, in Kingston, Jamaica West Indies with the U.S. Peace Corps. When not teaching or meeting with students, Nhu works with her husband on their family spice business which she hopes will lead them both to an early retirement someday.
