David retired in 2018 after serving over eight years as City Manager for Independence, Oregon. While Independence was not the last City in which David served, there was none better over a 40-year public service career spanning 11 cities in two states, one county and a League of Cities and Towns (AZ). David also served as Interim City Manager in several Oregon cities post retirement.

Additionally, David practiced law on and off for 11 years in Colorado. Spent time doing some real estate work, working as a planning consultant and a title examiner. If it seems to you that David never actually could figure out how to spend his waking hours, you would be right.

David has lived in four western states and three countries. The last 42 years have been spent in Oregon and Colorado. Oh yeah, six children through three marriages, eleven grandchildren and a great grandchild; and a golden retriever puppy.

David is currently serving as a newly appointed PSU Senior Fellow, an OCCMA/ICMA Senior Advisor, a Court Appointed Special Advocate, a Master Gardener and volunteers at the local food bank. He hopes to be appointed shortly to the Oregon Clean Power Cooperative Board of Directors.
