Requirements for a Baccalaureate Degree
Main Components of a PSU Baccalaureate Degree:
- General Education: University Studies or University Honors
- Degree: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Fine Arts
- Writing (Effective beginning Fall 2012)
- Credit Requirement: A minimum of 180 credits are needed to graduate, with at least 72 upper division credits (300/400 level courses). Forty-five (45) of the last 60 credits must be taken at PSU.
You must complete all the components listed above to attain your baccalaureate degree. Portland State provides 4-year degree maps to help you make informed decisions about your coursework and graduate as quickly as possible.
Please see the PSU Bulletin for a complete list of University requirements (for example: limitations on total number of Pass/No Pass credits or on Physical Education classes).
Transfer credits apply toward your total credits needed to graduate and may also apply to the other graduation requirements shown above.
