Bachelors + Masters Pathway
How does the Pathways program work?
Currently admitted BSME students can apply to the Bachelor's + Master's Pathway after they have completed 12 credits of BSME upper division coursework. For most students this would be once they complete their first term as an admitted BSME student. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 at the time of application in order to be considered for admission.
After being accepted into the Bachelor’s + Master’s Pathway, the student selects graduate level courses (500 or 600 level) that will be applied to the student’s BSME degree requirements. In the last term of enrollment in the BSME program, the student submits an abbreviated graduate application form to indicate their intended Master’s degree program. If the student admitted to the Pathway graduates with a GPA of 3.3 or better, no additional application to the graduate program is necessary. The student then completes the requirements for the BSME and graduates. When the student admitted to the Bachelor’s + Master’s Pathway matriculates into the graduate program, up to 16 credits of graduate level course work completed while an undergraduate will then be applied to the student’s graduate program.
Pathway students must have an cumulative GPA of 3.3 upon graduation from the BSME program in order to maintain their automatic admission into a MME graduate program. Students must also receive a grade of "B-" or better in any course they wish to apply towards a graduate program.
How to Apply
Interested students must fill out an application and submit three MME faculty reference letters. Students must also submit a statement of purpose. Applications are accepted each term, excluding summer. Students can apply up to and during their final term of admission in the BSME program.
