Typically, well over 90% of MURP graduates are employed in planning-related employment within 18 months of graduating.  Recent graduates typically earn salaries in the $50,000-$90,000 range as early career planners, as of 2021.  We suspect the typical pay has increased in recent years; stay tuned for updated data soon!

MURP graduates work in diverse settings, with about half working in the public sector, 40% in the private sector, and 11% in the non-profit sector as shown below. Many of them remain involved with our MURP program, by attending alumni events, speaking on panels, mentoring current students, collaborating on research, and serving as clients on class projects. Alumni stay in touch via our LinkedIn (open to alumni and current students). Many MURP graduates stay in the region, and others move to other parts of the country and world.
