Energy is one of the most important resources for the functioning of cities, essential for infrastructure, buildings, housing, transportation, and other urban systems. In the context of anthropogenic climate change, the energy sector can play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability in urban environments, where most energy consumption occurs. This highlights the importance of energy planning as a timely and urgent issue for urban planners and policymakers.
The BIPOC Planners Club invites professionals from the energy sector to connect with urban planning students and share insights into their work, career pathways, key lessons from the industry, and the most relevant issues for city planners.
This event is open to the general public and lunch will be provided. Sponsored by the Center for Urban Studies (CUS).
