Student Activities and Leadership Programs' mission is to enrich and integrate students' leadership and academic experiences in order to educate students to be ethical, socially just, and civically engaged leaders on campus and in their larger communities.


Student Organization Advising:  Your helpful advisors help student organizations navigate all the policies and rules at Portland State, are there to mentor and coach student organizations, and to help connect students to communities and resources.  To find student organizations you can join, please visit Portland State CONNECT. 

Student Community Engagement Center: provides opportunities for students to directly volunteer in the community.  They offer a database of volunteer opportunities, year-long service positions, and day and week-long service projects.  Visit the Student Community Engagement Center website for more information.

Student Governement Relations works with your student government, the Associated Students of Portland State University.  The coordinator of student government relations advises the elected and appointed officials on university policy, process, and leadership development. Student Sustainability Center provides leadership opportunities to further sustainability efforts on campus.  Student internship, volunteer, and employment opportunites are available, as well as events and field trips. Visit the Student Sustainability website for more information. 

Student Media provides support for the five media outlets:  the Vanguard, KPSU, and Pacific Sentinal. The coordinator of student media and the student media tech team provide resources, training, and support to the editors and managers of student media.  For more information about student media, please visit this website

The coordinator of Student Operated Services supervises the managers of the five student run operations: Food Pantry, Graphic Design Center, Littman and White Galleries, 5th Avenue Cinema, and the Portland State Programming Board.
