It’s Time to Engage in PSU’s Strategic Planning Process
Dear Campus Community,
We are in the midst of crafting a strategic plan that will shape Portland State’s future and I am reaching out to you — students, faculty and staff — about opportunities to be an integral part of this transformative process. Your perspectives, experiences and insights are needed to help define the Heart of PSU.
We want to know:
- Why did you choose to be at PSU?
- What do you love about PSU?
- What do you think are PSU’s core values?
I encourage you to hold conversations or group discussions about these questions and then submit your answers to the Heart of PSU survey by January 31. We have even developed a conversation guide around these questions. This guide can help you to have a discussion with your colleagues and peers about these questions before submitting your answers.
In addition to the survey, I invite you to participate in one of the strategic planning engagement events on campus in February:
- Monday, Feb. 12, 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 15, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, Feb. 21, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

All events will be held at the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom and hosted by the Strategic Planning Steering Committee. The agenda for the events will be identical, so you only need to make time in your schedule to attend one in order to contribute to the strategic planning process. I will be providing more details about the events on my blog as the dates draw closer.
