Overview:

Portland State University's Homelessness Research and Action Collaborative (HRAC) is supporting Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) as they become the statewide Homelessness Management Information System (HMIS) administrator using a data lake system. Key functions include supporting OHCS to develop a governance structure informed by community and racial equity, and supporting research through input on data collection, data matching, research questions, and evaluation.

The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is an information system used to collect client-level data. It also collects data on the provision of housing, shelter, and services. It tracks services for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
