2024 LEO Survey

About the 2024 Survey

Fielded from August through October 2024, the latest iteration of the Local Election Official (LEO) Survey captures the real-time perspectives of local election officials navigating a high-stakes presidential election year.

Administered as a collaboration between the Elections & Voting Information Center (EVIC) at Reed College and the Center for Public Service (CPS) at the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University, the 2024 report and accompanying resources provide critical insights into the evolving landscape of American election administration. Drawing from the thoughtful responses of officials across the country, this data serves as a vital resource for understanding the daily realities of running elections.

The principal investigators for the project are EVIC Founder and Director Paul Gronke, PhD (Reed College), and EVIC Research Director Paul Manson, PhD (Portland State University).

The 2024 LEO Survey was generously supported by Democracy Fund and the Election Trust Initiative.
