Dan Bedell completed a Master's of Environmental Management from Portland State in 2015 and has been teaching ESM and University Studies courses since then. Dan's research is focused around interpreting data generated via community-based macroinvertebrate biomonitoring in Pacific Northwest streams. By engaging PSU students, volunteers and community partners in stream monitoring field trips, Dan continues to develop a long-term data set capable of detecting coarse ecological trends, including impacts from stream restoration, urbanization and wildfires. More recently, Dan has published an index of biological integrity for assessing stream condition with community science data in Journal of Freshwater Science.
