IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING CORONAVIRUS FOR NEW AND CURRENT STUDENTS

Due to the concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, the IELP office is operating remotely. We are still performing all essential functions, and we can work with you via phone, Zoom, Google hangouts, or email.

Our regular business hours have changed. We are now open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will be closed on Fridays beginning June 1, 2020 and until further notice. If you need assistance on a Friday, please leave a detailed message or email. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

The Intensive English Language Program (IELP) is a fully integrated department of Portland State University (PSU).

The IELP is here to help you improve your English for:

  • enrolling in a degree program at an American university
  • for personal growth
  • or for professional reasons

IELP students benefit from access to all of the extracurricular activities, services, and resources available to PSU university students. For example, IELP students can:

  • join student clubs
  • live in a residence hall
  • use the library, computer labs, and recreation center

Additionally, students who successfully complete the Pathway Program fulfill PSU’s language proficiency requirement for undergraduate admission.

Explore the IELP website and learn more about the IELP programs offered, additional support services, our exceptional faculty, and our friendly and dedicated staff.
