Ellie Harmon, computer science, Veronica Hotton, university studies and principle investigator, Robert Liebman, sociology faculty emeritus, Michael Lupro, university studies faculty, and Wu-chang Feng, computer science faculty, received a $99,021 grant for the GenCyber Teacher Program Portland State University. Alissa Hartig, applied linguistics faculty, and Jack Barbera, chemistry faculty, were awarded a three-year $299,945 grant from the National Science Foundation for an interdisciplinary project titled “Understanding the Role of Student Engagement in Active Learning Outcomes in General Chemistry through Discourse Analysis.” Hyeyoung Woo, sociology faculty, received a $270,000 three-year grant to study “The Making of Women in Korea” from the Academy of Korean Studies.
