Honors in London: Health, Science & Colonialism
How do colonial histories shape health, science, and power today?

Join PSU Honors College faculty William (Harry) York and Eric Rodriguez for a four-week faculty-led program in London, exploring how Britain’s imperial past continues to influence medical institutions, scientific knowledge, and public health.

Through two interconnected seminars and visits to museums, archives, and historical sites, you’ll examine topics including colonialism, medicine, health surveillance, and protest. Explore how institutions communicate authority over bodies and communities—and how people challenge and reshape those narratives.

Designed for Honors College students from all majors, this program is especially suited for students interested in history, political science, public health, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, and rhetoric.

Program Dates: June 27–July 25, 2027
Courses: Two HON 407 seminars (8 credits), fulfilling eight of the twelve required Honors seminar or internship credits
Prerequisite: None
