Viking Visits

Viking Visits are an opportunity to go directly to local companies to get an exclusive firsthand look at what makes them successful. It is a chance to meet and hear from professionals about what they do and how you can start a career in this industry. 

Must be a current PSU student to attend a Viking Visit. Transportation is not provided and students must register to attend.

Vikings your chance to visit the go-to guide of our city has come! The next PSU Viking Visit will be to the Pulitzer Prize winning weekly alternative newspaper, Willamette Week.  

Willamette Week is a Portland staple known for delivering the news with true grit, whether you want to accept it or not, for nearly 50 years. City inhabitants go-to WW for trusted guides and reviews whenever they need to know what to do and where to go, so it is no wonder why this edgy media source has stood the test of time and even expanded to give us TechFestNW and MusicFestNW!

Past Visits

Students got the chance to visit Wieden + Kennedy, Caldera Arts, and JOINT Editorial during this three-part Viking Visit.

Students toured this local news organization where they learned about Oregon Live's approach to sustainable journalism.

Students got an exclusive tour of this company's unique Portland office, where they were able to meet with CEO David Barrett for a Q&A session.

16 students joined us for a firsthand look at CCC and their employment opportunities that promote growth, development, and realizing one’s full potential.

Attendees were invited to find their next adventure at Columbia where they learned why employees consider their work more than just a paycheck.

Students toured their innovative workspace and heard from a panel in their Customer Service, Trust & Safety, Public Policy, and Engineering departments.

Attendees took an exclusive tour of Portland's local NBC affiliate award-winning studio and learned about KGW's internship program.

This unique opportunity brought attendees to the Columbia Sportwear headquarters to see what makes them one of the leading local companies.

Students of all majors were invited to get an exclusive look at this world-renowned company with over 165 million active users interfacing with 1 billion listings.

Students from twelve different disciplines visited the Portland icon of science and industry, getting a      firsthand look at the inner workings of OMSI.  

Attendees were able to meet the staff and get a behind-the-scenes look into this independent, creatively-driven agency with a global presence.

Laika was kind enough to open its doors for students to meet a variety of professionals including set artists, production managers, and part of the film crew.

Students were led on a tour of Green Zebra’s main office where they learned about their mission to increase access to delicious, high quality food.
