  1. Kathi Inman Berens, English faculty, presented “Building a Humanities-Focused Minor in Creative Industries at Portland State University” at the Modern Language Association Convention on Jan. 6. 
  2. Cynthia Carmina Gómez, Director of Community & Civic Impact in University Relations, presented “Presencia Mexicana en Universidades de EUA” at Conversatorio en el marco de la Celebración de 200 Años de Relaciones Diplomáticas México - Estados Unidos de América, hosted by the Mexican Consulate in Portland.
  3. Carlos Mena, Business faculty, presented, “To Concentrate or to Diversify the Supply Base? Implications from the U.S. Apparel Supply Chain During the COVID-19 Pandemic,” at the Decision Sciences Annual Meeting from Nov. 19-21 in Houston. 
  4. Ryan Petteway, OHSU-PSU School of Public Health faculty, gave an invited guest lecture at New York University School of Global Public Health for a course on Experiential Learning in Public Health titled, “Stories, Counterstories, and the Necessity of Stats and Stanzas: Poetry as Antiracist + Decolonizing Praxis.”

Lynn Santelmann, Janet Cowal, John Hellermann, Jenny Mittelstaedt, and Steve Thorne, Applied Linguistics faculty; Michelle Arendt, Applied Linguistics student; and Ben Relampagos and Erin Theunick, graduate students; presented a poster titled, “Linguistic Diversity and Discrimination Awareness Project (LiDA): Connecting With Our Campus Community at Portland State University” at the annual Linguistic Society of America Meeting on Jan. 7 in Denver.
