  1. Jola Ajibade, geography faculty, was a panelist on “Cities and Global Climate Justice,” at the UCLA Luskin Institute Global Mini-Summit on Inequality and Democracy on March 2. 
  2. Anita Bright, education faculty, presented “Palestinian English Language Teachers in the Occupied Territories: A Time of Reckoning and Change” at the annual meeting of the American Association of Applied Linguistics in Pittsburgh.
  3. Kim Brown, applied linguistics faculty, presented “Developing Materials to Support English Language Learners with Disabilities” at the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages International Convention on March 24 in Pittsburgh.
  4. Liubomir Chiriac, mathematics and statistics faculty, gave a talk titled “Summing Hecke Eigenvalues Over Polynomials” on March 18 at the Automorphic Forms Workshop.
  5. Christine Cress, education faculty, co-presented “Equity-Centered Community Engagement: Teaching Strategies for Justice, Solidarity and Advocacy” at the Campus Compact National Conference on March 29.
  6. Dacian Daescu, mathematics and statistics faculty, presented research titled “Flow-Dependent Background Error Covariance Optimization for Hybrid Ensemble-Variational Atmospheric Data Assimilation” to the American Mathematical Society Spring Central Virtual Sectional Meeting in March.
  7. Evguenia Davidova, international studies and global studies faculty, presented a paper titled, “Nursing Education and International Philanthropy in Southeast Europe in the Interwar Period” at the Randolph International Nursing History Conference in March.
  8. Susan Kirtley, English faculty, gave a presentation on “Defining Comics Pedagogy” at the Comic Arts Conference in Anaheim, California.
  9. Monika Mulder, Intensive English Language Program faculty, and Lara Nardone, graduate student, presented “ESOL Online Resources Website for Students and Teachers” at the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages International Convention in March in Pittsburgh.
