Campus-Wide Awards

Faculty and Staff Excellence Awards

Academic Affairs, Research and Strategic Partnerships, and the PSU Foundation hold annual requests for nominations for Faculty and Staff Excellence Awards to acknowledge individuals who have achieved outstanding scholarship and accomplishments at Portland State University. Award eligibility, nomination deadlines, and the nomination form will be available starting January 8, 2024. Final nominations are due February 9, 2024.

Each year PSU’s Research & Graduate Studies (RGS) department also welcomes nominations of outstanding researchers and graduate student mentors to receive special recognition. Award descriptions, including nomination criteria and deadlines, are available on the PSU Research Awards Site. In addition to these university-level research awards, RGS invites the individual colleges and schools across campus to name a researcher, scholar, or practitioner of the year. All these outstanding researchers are celebrated each May during Research Week.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

John Eliot Allen Outstanding Teaching Award

The John Eliot Allen Outstanding Teaching Awards were established in 1998 to recognize exceptional teaching and leadership in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Award is named for John Eliot Allen, an outstanding professor who founded the PSU Geology Department and taught for more than 35 years.
