KONO, Nariyo, Ph.D, is Senior Fellow, Center for Public Service and Adjunct Assistant Professor, University Studies Program at Portland State University in Oregon, USA. Born and educated in Japan, Nariyo Kono received her interdisciplinary Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. Her research interests include community-based learning and teaching, theory development in language planning and language policy, heritage & Indigenous language documentation and maintenance, and research ethics.
