Senior Adult Learning Center (SALC)

THE SENIOR ADULT LEARNING CENTER PROVIDES OREGON RESIDENTS 65 AND OLDER THE OPPORTUNITY TO AUDIT PSU COURSES WITHOUT PAYING TUITION*.

*There is a one-time $25 application fee to join SALC and certain course fees may apply. Course registration is contingent on instructor approval and space available. Members may audit up to 8 credit hours per term, year-round.

April 20	SUMMER SCHEDULE OF CLASSES AVAILABLE TO BROWSE ONLINE**
May 4	SALC REGISTRATION BEGINS DO NOT contact instructors for permission to audit until this date.
June 22	SUMMER TERM CLASSES BEGIN - DO NOT attend class unless you have received instructor approval AND you have been officially registered. - If the course you want is FULL, wait until the term begins to request permission. SALC cannot override full classes until the term begins.
Varying dates...	Summer term courses vary in length, start, and end dates. Please consult the Academic Calendar for specific dates: https://www.pdx.edu/registration/academic-calendar. You MUST email SALC to drop a course.

FALL 2026 Registration Dates & Deadlines*

April 27	FALL SCHEDULE OF CLASSES AVAILABLE TO BROWSE ONLINE**
Sept 8	SALC REGISTRATION BEGINS DO NOT contact instructors for permission to audit until this date.
Sept 28	FALL TERM CLASSES BEGIN - DO NOT attend class unless you have received instructor approval AND you have been officially registered. - If the course you want is FULL, wait until the term begins to request permission. SALC cannot override full classes until the term begins.
Oct 4	Last day to drop a class for 100% fee refund, if applicable ("Add'l fees" are listed in the course schedule). Refunds decrease every week after. You MUST email SALC to drop a course.
Oct 11	FALL REGISTRATION ENDS

The SALC Registration Hold

All senior auditors have a hold placed on their PSU accounts when they join the program. It does NOT require any action.

The hold prevents PSU from charging you tuition, and it is a reminder that senior auditors must work with the SALC office every term to get registered for courses. The hold will remain on your account as long as you audit classes through SALC.
